It's just a repaint. The gun is a Nerf N-Strike Maverick Rev-6. It's an $8 gun you can pick up at WalMart or any toy store.

It's plastic!

I have that gun! It doesn't look that good though.
That is very cool, I really like it.
How did you get the wood effect? if you don't mind my askin?

Just painted on a base coat of brown and then streaked over it with brown and black paints and inks. You can simulate different types of wood by changing up the paint and the graining. I'm going to try a curly grain pattern and an ivory color scheme later on a different gun (I got like 4 of these for myself to mess around with :D).

absolutely awesome repaint, looks like its actually made of metal.

ive been looking into something like this myself but was put off by water pistols, great idea for using a nerf gun.
